Find Olmsted County Divorce Records
Divorce is called dissolution of marriage in Minnesota. One spouse must live in Minnesota for at least 180 days or be in the armed forces while maintaining Minnesota residency. Divorce forms are filed in the county where one spouse lives, so proper Olmsted venue uses Olmsted County District Court when the residence requirement points there.

Getting Certified Copies
Certified marriage certificates are used when proof of marriage is required for legal, benefit, passport, or name-related purposes. Olmsted County says to allow one week for marriage certificate requests. Do not send cash. Returned checks carry a $30 charge.
Certified divorce decrees are certified court documents. They must be requested from Court Administration in the county where the divorce was granted. MCRO records and downloads are not certified copies, even when they show public divorce case information.
